Two minutes, on Wi-Fi, before you leave home. That's the whole job.
The one-tap way (iOS 17.4 or later)
- On the iPhone, open the install screen you saw after paying, the "Your eSIM is ready" email, or My eSIMs.
- Tap Install on iPhone.
- Follow the prompts. When it asks for a label, pick Custom Label and type kimsim, so you can spot it later.
- When it asks which line to use for mobile data, keep your usual line for now. You switch to kimsim when you land.
The QR code way (any iPhone with eSIM)
- Open the QR code on another screen: a laptop, a tablet or a friend's phone. You can't scan a code that's on the same phone.
- On the iPhone: Settings → Mobile Service → Add eSIM → Use QR Code, then scan it.
Can't scan? Choose Enter Details Manually and paste the SM-DP+ address and activation code from My eSIMs.
When you land
Turn on Data Roaming for the kimsim line. Without it, the eSIM can't connect abroad. Here's how, and why it's not a scam.
Stuck? Don't delete it. Restart your phone first. If the install hung or the Mobile Data option vanished, read this.
