Deep breath. This looks scary, but it's usually fine.
What you're seeing
- The last step of the iPhone install spins and spins.
- You tap back, and the new line is there and switched on, but its page only shows Mobile Plan Label, Turn On This Line and Delete eSIM.
- The Mobile Data option at the top of Mobile Service has vanished too.
- Trying to install again says it failed.
What's actually going on
The eSIM downloaded fine. It just hasn't connected to a network yet, and iPhone hides every data setting until a line connects. The "failed" message on a second try only means the eSIM is already on your phone. More on that.
Fix it
- Don't delete the eSIM. It can't be downloaded again.
- Restart the phone: fully off, wait 10 seconds, back on.
- Wait up to 2 minutes for signal bars. None? Turn Airplane Mode on for 30 seconds, then off.
- When bars appear, Mobile Data comes back. Choose the kimsim line, then switch on Data Roaming inside it. How.
- Still nothing? Set the APN shown in My eSIMs.
- Last resort: Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Reset → Reset Network Settings. It keeps your eSIMs but forgets Wi-Fi passwords.
