Many travel eSIMs send your data through a hub in another country before it reaches the internet. Each destination page shows where, under Internet exit.
Some apps (streaming services, shopping sites, Google's language choice) read that location and get confused. Your connection is working fine; the app just thinks you're somewhere else.
Tips
- Maps and GPS use your phone's real location, so navigation is unaffected.
- For the odd app that complains, switching to Wi-Fi for that one thing usually sorts it.
- Using a VPN as well? That changes your location again. VPNs.
